I've completed my Mondays -w- Little D project [insert pat on back here]. But if you recall this blog was initially intended to be about crafting of which I've done precious little this past year. And if the first month is any indication even less is to come in 2010.
That combined with the fact that if I get any response to my posts they tend to come from facebook. I'm not quitting - yet. But I am going to take a break of an indeterminate duration. While I am away I invite you to join me on facebook where as the mood strikes I will attempt to blog there using the note feature. I am Carrie Pake Ellis.
Please know that your loving comments about my son have brightened many a dark day for me.
Toodaloo,
Carrie

Marti You're the Best
There aren't enough Mondays left, but I couldn't not post this. Marti sent us a cute button down shirt that will totally make Little D look just like Big D and this too-cool robot in celebration of Little D's first birthday. Thank you!

Mondays -w- Little D
Little D has mastered his aversion to books and enjoys them so much that we now keep a couple in each of his play baskets in addition to those kept on the shelf.
We've discovered that he is slow to warm up to new things and tends not to like anything much until he's seen and/or heard it a few times (including people). Now that we know this we've been less apt to dismiss a new song and/or book right from the get-go and try it a few times before deciding if it's a win or not.
Case in point, these flash cards. A gift from Santa they were ignored for the first week or so, and are now a firm favourite. In his own fashion, he actually sought me out this evening to go through them with him. These ones are on a ring and made of strong cardboard. They have lovely illustrations on one side and words that rhyme on the reverse. We found our Rhyme Time cards at Winners but they appear to be made by Mudpuppy.com

BREAKING NEWS: Bus Attacked En Route to Fisher Price Convention - Fatalities Feared
Tuesday, January 12, 2010
Welcome to my Fisher Price Convention
I'm hosting it at my Playskool Holiday Inn that I bought for Little D at a yard sale for five bucks this past summer.

All plastic peoples are welcome, even the new Little People. (But I think they are staying at the Marriot).

These are the Ellis', they come every year. They are like family.

Here is Mr.Ellis on the john.

But at least he's not in the dog house!
